PFP began in 1999 when Fran Moscardelli and his son Richard started a small business in Gordonsville, Tennessee specializing in servicing the air filter industry. During the planning stages, they laid out a business plan that focused on filling the small volume niche in the air filter market that large folding carton producers often ignore.
The younger Moscardelli had earlier worked in Dallas for a paperboard mill, and his experience and knowledge of the mill side of the business complemented Fran’s thirty year expertise on the converting side. The start-up venture partnered with two air filtration companies, and actual production began in early fall 1999. At that time, five highly skilled and experienced employees were hired. Today, ten years later, those original five remain with PFP in positions of leadership of a 30 person workforce.
As the company continued to grow, Fran and Richard recruited another family member, Michael, who joined the team in 2007 after several years of practicing corporate law.
In the past ten years, the company has upgraded its original equipment and has added additional machinery in response to a dramatic increase in sales. Recognizing an opportunity to better serve its customers west of the Mississippi River, PFP opened a second manufacturing location in Lancaster, Texas in the spring of 2008.
Today, PFP can competitively manufacture the small and large runs that make up the normal raw material inventory of any large or small player in the air filter market. The air filter industry, the basis of our company’s original business plan, continues to be PFP’s focus. |
